About the Everest2 Programme

In April / May 2011 I will join an expedition to climb to the 8848m (29,028 ft) summit of Mount Everest via the North East Ridge in Tibet. From the comfort of their classrooms, I will take 3 globally aligned geography classes from Canada, the UK and India on my journey. From the dizzying heights of our mountain camps, I will communicate via a defined set of ‘challenges’ my findings on Mount Everest. From the mountain I will test the students’ hypothesis about the effects of altitude on oxygen, the physical features of Everest, evidence of climate change, and the Sherpa tradition....
